As a civilization, the Romans fused a fairly advanced governmental system, architecture, and art with a culture that celebrated barbaric, bloody practices and decadence. Their written works, bequeathed to us by such talented authors as Virgil, remain classics to be studied and admired today. Their religion was polytheistic, containing a pantheon of gods and goddesses similar to those worshipped by the Greeks. This was also often combined with veneration of the reigning emperor.

- Palace of Fine Arts-They have arches. Arches was used and was learned by the medieval Romans.
- The City Hall- The 2nd City Hall has a dome.The dome was also learned by the Romans.
